Domestic Violence Safer Communities Team, London Borough of Barnet

Weekly group sessions to help children aged 9 -11 identify, express and understand their feelings related to domestic violence including: loss, shame, guilt, anger and blame.

Mother's must also attend the mother's support program. These weekly meetings are to help mothers to understand what their children are learning and doing each week so that they can help their children through this process.

The children's and mother's programmes run for 12 weeks and groups meet for up to 2hrs weekly.

Each group is age specific and is run by three experienced facilitators from local domestic violence support services and children's support and counselling organisations.
