Somali Family Support Group

EiE is a child centered approach to improving the learning experience. Although the main focus is literacy and numeracy, the programme is varied and is based on learning through play.

Although the majority of children are of Somali origin, ethnicity is varied and includes Afghan, Iraqi, Kuwaiti and English. Somali Family Support Group operates an open and inclusive policy as the organisation believes that inclusion helps learning.

EiE has strong values which are shared with the children and young people. Respect for their elders, their peers and themselves is stressed. Children are encouraged to express themselves politely and to become self confident individuals who are proud of their heritage and willing to contribute positively to society.
